Your donation can help us to save lives and stop economic abuse forever

“I will forever be grateful for Surviving Economic Abuse’s hard work and dedication to survivors. SEA has saved many lives, which should never be underestimated.” – Victim-survivor

One in seven women in the UK experienced economic abuse by a current or former partner in the past 12 months. The effects can last a lifetime, and without support, some women can never break free of the abuser’s control.

They can be left with large amounts of debt, or without access to money or a home. Many are trapped with abusive partners and experience other forms of abuse. Some feel they have no choice but to take their own lives.

Why give to Surviving Economic Abuse?

Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.

With your support, we can create change for victim-survivors that can be life-changing and sometimes life-saving.

Together, we will save lives and stop economic abuse forever.

Our approach

  • We centre victim-survivors’ voices and lived experience in everything we do
  • We campaign to raise awareness of economic abuse and ensure victim-survivors can access support.
  • We publish ground-breaking research to inform our stakeholders and influence policy and legislation.
  • We drive lasting systemic change and transform frontline practice through our specialist training, resources, and consultancy

Where does your money go?

We depend on charitable donations for all areas of our work. Without them, SEA wouldn’t exist.

For every £1 we spend on fundraising, we spend £9.58 on our core work raising awareness of and transforming responses to economic abuse.

Last year, your support helped us:

  • reach over 60,000 victim-survivors through our website, Survivor Forum, frontline partnerships, and direct work alongside experts by experience
  • train nearly 1,500 professionals to recognise and respond to economic abuse
  • connect over 300 new victim-survivors through our Survivors’ Forum
  • attend 50 parliamentary engagements to help keep economic abuse high on decision-makers’ agendas
