We’re excited to announce that Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA) has been chosen as one of this year’s charities for The Big Give’s Women and Girls Match Fund campaign. We work day in, day out to help survivors and their children rebuild their lives after economic abuse.

Will you help us be there for more women? Donate to SEA between midday on 10 October 2024 and midday on 17 October 2024 and your donation will be doubled.

What if you left an abusive partner only to find out they had racked up thousands of pounds in debt in your name?
What if they said they’d pay child support but didn’t, leaving you to rely on food banks to feed your child?
What if they refused to let you sell the family home, trapping you in a mortgage you can’t afford or making you homeless?

This is the reality for 5.5 million UK women who have experienced economic abuse in the last year. Every day is a struggle to survive — even after they have escaped the abuser.

Abusers often plunge survivors and their children into homelessness and poverty. Many survivors end up in mountains of debt and have no choice but to rely on food banks or sofa-surfing to get by.

We help survivors and their children rebuild their lives after economic abuse and supported over 60,000 people last year. Our training helps professionals understand what economic abuse is. This means that when survivors reach out to the police, confide in a GP, or disclose to their bank, they get the right help and abusers are stopped in their tracks.

Could you help us be there for more women? Please donate anything you can to SEA between midday on 10 October 2024 and midday on 17 October 2024 and #TheBigGive will double it. Together, we can save lives and stop economic abuse forever.

£10 could fund the creation of vital information and resources for victim-survivors
£20 could pay for training materials for frontline workers to give victim-survivors the help they need
£50 could help to fund one of our eye-catching campaigns to raise awareness of economic abuse
